Issue 1: The Health Issue-Mental Health: 22 February 2022.

Just like physical health, mental health plays a significant role in our overall well-being. We explore the Te Whare Tapa Whā well-being model, and look at ways to manage feelings of anxiety and depression in ourselves and others.

Issue 2: The Media Issue: 15 March 2022

What is news? We look at how media organisations in NZ determine what is classed as "news" or "newsworthy". We explore how news comes together and talk to some of the passionate people who communicate what’s happening in their community.

Issue 3: War and Remembrance: 12 April 2022 

What were the reasons that young men and women left NZ to get involved  in WW1? What did they hope to see, find or experience? We also look at the Mana Whenua perspective of WW1. Did they go to war for the same or different reasons to Pākehā men and women?

Issue 4: The Environment Issue- Renewable Energy: 10 May 2022

We look at New Zealand's renewable energy infrastructure as we move away from fossil fuels to 100% renewables. How does renewable energy work? What are the costs and benefits of converting our national grid to renewable energy?

Issue 5: The Weather Issue- Wicked Weather: 31 May 2022

We explore the relationship between climate change and weather. We look at how those across the Pacific in our expanded backyard are being impacted by climate change and the increasingly dramatic weather that comes with it.

Issue 6: Matariki: 21 June 2022

In 2022, Aotearoa will celebrate Matariki with a public holiday for the first time. What is Matariki, what does it mean, and how do other cultures celebrate this time of year? We also look at Māori and European names for constellations and the stories associated with this.

Issue 7: The Sports Issue- The Commonwealth Games: 26 July 2022. 

We preview the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and some of the New Zealand athletes who will be competing. We will also look at what the Commonwealth is, and the growing calls for some nations to become republics.

Issue 8: The Election Issue- Local Politics: 16 August 2022

With the 2022 Local Body Elections on the horizon we look at how local government (council) works, what their roles and responsibilities are and what the big issues are across New Zealand that elected members will be facing if they are successful.

Issue 9: Maori Language Week- The rise of Te Reo: 13 September 2022. 

While phrases like “Kia Ora”, and “Ngā Mihi” are becoming increasingly common today, we do not have to look too far back into our past to find a very different time. Why did it take until 1987 for Te Reo Māori to be recognised as an official language in Aotearoa, and what was the impact of this on Māori culture?

Issue 10: New Zealand Pioneers- The Gold Rush: 18 October 2022. 

We look back at the discovery of gold in Otago in the 1860s and the ensuing “Gold Rush”. We look at the impact that gold had on New Zealand, and what life was like for those seeking gold. We will also look at how gold is extracted in New Zealand today.

Issue 11: Marvellous Maunga: 8 November 2022. 

New Zealand is a land of mountains. They help define everything from our landscape and weather to our culture. In this issue we look at how mountains are formed, and the impact that they have on the weather. We also take a 

look at Mana Whenua relationships with the mountains and look at some examples of how mountains across the motu are represented in the oral history of different Iwi.
